- Slides scanned as GIF or JPEG Images
These are older slides, copies of diagrams from text books etc
for which no file version exists, so they are just scans from the original slide,
which may not be in good condition. Image size has also been reduced for faster
download time. The slides will open in your browser and have been
sized to be displayed on the average screen. Of course you can save them to an image
editor to resize or print as you wish. Quality is not so good but hopefully better
than nothing
- Slides Which are MS Word pages (*.doc files)
These may open either in the browser window or a in new MSWord window
when you click on the link. The problem with the former is that the original format
of the Word page may be lost or corrupted. To force the link to open in a MSWord
page, do the following :
- Launch Windows Explorer (or take View in My Computer)
- Select "Folder Options..." from the Tools menu.
- Select the "File Types" tab.
- Scroll down the list of "Registered file types" until you find "DOC - Microsoft Word Document" and select it.
- Click on the "Advanced..." button at the bottom of the dialog.
- Uncheck the "Browse in same window" checkbox !
